NEC Women's Retreat 2025 - "Thrive"

Over the course of several days on the beautiful island of Jamaica, approximately 300 women from across the Northeastern Conference gathered for the 2025 Women’s Ministries Retreat under the inspiring theme, “Thrive.” What took place was far more than a weekend getaway or retreat— it was a powerful and transformative experience filled with heartfelt worship, deep reflection, meaningful connection, and profound spiritual renewal.

Set against the serene backdrop of Jamaica’s natural beauty, the retreat created a sacred space where women were able to step away from the demands of everyday life and fully embrace themselves in God’s presence through worship, prayer, fellowship, and intentional moments of self-examination. The attendees were encouraged not just to survive life’s challenges, but to truly thrive—spiritually, emotionally, and purposefully.

The retreat served as a reminder of the strength found in unity and the renewal that comes when women gather with a shared desire to grow in faith, purpose, and resilience.

THE BAPTISM

One of the most memorable and life-changing moments of the retreat unfolded on Sabbath morning. As the day began, four women stepped forward, openly expressing their desire to be baptized. Later, during the divine service, a heartfelt and Spirit-led appeal was delivered by Dr. Donnett Blake. In response, five additional individuals answered the call of the Holy Spirit.

By the close of the service, a total of eight women and one man had surrendered their lives to Christ—an undeniable testament to God’s presence, His moving Spirit, and the transformative power that permeated the entire weekend. This sacred moment stood as a powerful reminder that when hearts are open and faith is activated, lives are forever changed.

It was not just a retreat—it was a divine encounter.

MEET, GREET & PREACH

From the opening session to the final benediction, the retreat reflected growth, grace, and spiritual renewal. Through heartfelt worship, powerful prayer, and dynamic workshops, women explored what it truly means to thrive in faith and purpose. The atmosphere was one of unity and revival, strengthened by shared testimonies and meaningful connections.

A highlight of the retreat was the keynote messages by Dr. Andrea King, whose passionate preaching challenged and encouraged attendees. She reminded participants that disappointment can be divine redirection and urged them to “give God glory before He finishes the story,” a message that deeply resonated with many.

As the retreat came to a close, participants left Jamaica renewed in faith, strengthened in purpose, and committed to continuing their journey of growth—ready to thrive in God’s calling
